My cats adore this fountain. They are turkish vans, so have an affinity to water and this gives them an opportunity to both play and drink!
My cat quit drinking out of her regular bowl and started using the 'bowl' in the bathroom which is why i got this. Once it stops pumping, the water leaks under the drain and the pan goes dry. She'll sit and stare at it but won't drink out of it (yet). When she gets close and the pump turns on, it scares her, so i've over filled it a bit to keep enough in the pan with the pump off so it won't go dry, hoping to get her used to drinking out of it. Once she discovers it's safe i'll turn the pump back on. Once it stops pumping, the water leaks below the top of the drain and the pan quickly goes dry. I'm keeping it over-filled so it doesn't dry up, i hope she'll get used to it. I'm thinking about putting some silicone around the drain to seal it. Which is something the designer should have done. It is however extremely quiet, and the rechargeable part is a nice touch. If you get one, get the one with the cord, and extra filters!
